55 Meter Dash - State Rankings
Five of the final eight from last year return to the Meet of Champions in 2017. Marvin Morgan of Neptune who placed second in 2016 leads the state with his 6.38 at Groups. Not too far behind as the second seed is Bryce Watts of Toms River North at 6.41, he was sixth in 2016. The F.A.T. meet record of 6.38 may be in jeopardy.
The other four returners include Marteese Jones of South Plainfield, Tyler Moore of Hamilton West, and Martin Booker Jr of Pennsauken. Newcomers in the mix are highlighted by Miguerson Joseph of Elizabeth, Akeem Lindo of East Orange Campus, and Andrew Aquilera from Governor Livingston.

State record holder Cory Poole said he looks to lower that standard with his last few meets of the season and you better believe he can. At Groups he ran a 7.20 for the win, the state record he recorded earlier this season a 7.13.
Juan Alejandro of Perth Amboy, Andrew Aquilera of Governor Livingston, and Al-Tariq Dunson of East Orange will all challenge Poole for the title.

200 Meter Dash Showcase - State Rankings
The top two finishers in last year's boys 200 meter return this season ranked as the sixth and seventh seeds. Thomas Kalieta Jr of Matawan won in 2016 with a time of 22.41, placing him third all-time at the Bennett Complex track, and Martin Booker Jr was second with a run of 22.55. Booker Jr is tied with Kalieta Jr for third all-time at the Bennett Complex thanks to his own 22.41 at the SJTCA #12 meet this season. The top seed heading into the competition this year is Semaj Willis of Trenton Central who ran 21.97 at the Mercer County Championships.
Also of note in the boys 200 meter the three of the top five seeds are only sophomores. Second is Luke Colehower of Haddonfield seeded 22.02, third Rahmir Johnson of Bergen Catholic 22.12, and fifth Tyrig Bundy of Deptford 22.37.

400 Meter Dash - State Rankings
Semaj Willis of Trenton Central took off this state season and finds himself as the top seed heading into MOCs with his 48.81 at Groups. The state leader Luke Colehower of Haddonfield ran 49.92 last weekend has a 48.75 on the season, Boaz Madeus of Hamilton North 50.15, and Thomas Kalieta Jr of Matawan 50.50 at Groups all return from last year's top six finishers.
New to the mix is second seed Cory Poole of East Orange who was second to Willis at Groups with a 48.82, Amir Brock of Egg Harbor Twp 49.66, and David Scheier of Hunterdon Central 49.93.
