Bergen County Girls Rankings

1. IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY

This past Saturday, the Blue Eagles jumped onto the New York State thruway and traveled north to Section 2 territory in New York, the most competitive Section in the United States to compete in the Queensbury Invitational.  IHA had an outstanding 3rd place finish behind the 8th ranked team in the USA, Queensbury and New York State’s 5th ranked team Arlington. In the process IHA also defeated #2 ranked Holy Angels.  Once again the team was paced by Sarah Pagano, who placed 2nd overall in 18:28.8.  Sophomore Erin Thompson finished 11th in 19:32.5 and Mary Kaye Duff was 14th in 19:47.6.  Julie Sinkovitz finished in 20:20.8 for 29th place and freshman Rachel Lotterman and Junior Tara Rutkowski were 49th and 50th in 21:09.8 and 21:10.2.  Freshman Katherine Mccurdy rounded out IHA’s top 7 finishing in 21:22.1 for 53rd. 

 

2. ACADEMY OF THE HOLY ANGELS

Holy Angles also traveled north to the Queensbury Invitational.  AHA finished 6th in a very deep field.  Susana Markolovic was 8th in 19:25.3.  Sophomore Jen Molke was 30th in 20:22.7.  Katie Sylvester and Maureen Crimmins finished back to back for 38th and 39th place in 20:45.7 and 20:49.2.  Maura Quinn was the fifth girl for Holy Angles as she finished in 48th place in a time of 21:09.4.  Holy Angels will next compete at the Shore Coaches Invitational at Holmdel Park on October 4th in the Varsity “C” race.   

 

   2. RIDGEWOOD

This past Tuesday Ridgewood raced at Darlington for the first time this season and did not disappoint as the easily defeated Hackensack 15-50.  The Maroons were led by Senior Sarah Daly, who was a run away winner, finishing in 19:46.0.  She was followed by fellow senior Charlotte Margel who finished the 3.1 course in 20:04.1.  From there Ridgewood packed it in as Grayden Lleradi, Jessica Vasquez and Emily Garber finished in 20:41.6, 20:44.1 and 21:12.0.  Megan Granski and Sam Laddin ran 21:21.6 and 21:25.1.  The Maroons will next be in action at either the Maroon Invitational on Friday, October 3rd or the Shore Coaches Invitational on October 4th at Holmdel Park in the Varsity “B” race. 

 

4. RAMSEY

Ramsey collected 2 wins in dual meet action on September 22nd at Garret Mountain over Demarest and Fair Lawn with scores of 19-38 and 15-50.  Junior Alexandra Clinton was Ramsey’s top finisher as she crossed the line in 20:07.6.  Ramsey’s 2 through 5 runners had an 11 seconds spread as Diane Baine, Kaitlin Stober, Lisa Anderson and Katherine Wilson all finished consecutively.   Ramsey’s next meet will be the Shore Coaches Invitational at Holmdel Park.

 

 

5. RAMAPO

Ramapo won two dual meets on September 22nd at Garret Mountain, 15-50 over Pascack Valley and a nail bitter, 28-29 over Mahwah.  Erin Mckenna ran a very impressive 19:25.9 to take the easy win.  Lily Rutler finished in 20:44.9.  Megan Gormley and Kim Wilson both broke 23 mintues as the finished in 22:48.2 and 22:59.9. Maria D’Amico just missed breaking 23 minutes as she posted a 23:00.5, Jessica Thompson and Megan Downey rounded out Ramapo’s top 7, running the 5000 meter course in 23:07.6 and 23:09.6.  Ramapo will next compete at the Shore Coaches Invitational on Saturday, October 4th.

7. Old Tappan- Beat both Indian Hills and Northern Highlands at Dual on 9/22 at Garret.

8. Indian Hills- Top Northern Highlands 26-29 but fall to Old Tappan by same score on 9/22 at Garret.
