Bill Massey of Montclair Kimberley Academy won his second straight Non-Public B title on Saturday when he finished first running 16:29. This is also the third straight year a Montclair Kimberley boy has won the championship, a run started by Drew Crichlow in 2014.
Mathieu Petit of Gill-St. Bernard's and Connor Melko of Bishop Eustace Prep battled for second both recording a time of 16:54, Petit earning the two spot. Melko's third place finish started what would become a state team championship for Bishop Eustace as his squad scored 50 points for the win. They split 1:03 between their top five and averaged 17:25. This is Bishop Eustace's sixth state title and their first since 2011.
That winning team featured Connor Melko in second 16:54, Nick Hutchison sixth 17:05, Michael Dziuba 10th 17:34, Andrew Massaro 11th 17:39, Brian Hutchison 20th 17:57, Grant Melko 25th 18:16, and Sean May 18:57.
