The Morris Hills boys broke the Toms River Bennett Complex venue record in the 4x800 meter relay last Sunday winning the Group 3 event title with 8:03.15. The previous record was held by Freehold Twp with their run of 8:03.63 in 2010 at Monmouth County Relays. Along with the venue the Morris Hills squad set new All-Group and Group 3 meet records for the 4x800 meter relay which were set at 8:04.26 (Notre Dame, 2015) and 8.05.26 (Morristown, 2010) respectively.

We caught up with them after their race to discuss how it felt and what their goals are for the rest of the season. Hint, they want to remain the best team out there in a big way at the end of indoor.

Right now with a 2016 best of 7:53.62 they are the only school from New Jersey to dip below the eight minute barrier this season and rank US#1 with four other sub-eight times behind them from the rest of the nation.  Last year we saw five New Jersey boys teams run sub eight, 10 in 2014, seven in 2013, and seven in 2012.

With only one so far this year how many squads do you think will run under eight minutes by the end of indoor track? Let us know who those teams will be on the social media post of the article - Discussion BoardTwitter - Facebook
