Going in this race was a hard one to predict and judging by her awesome performance on Saturday we should have paid more attention to Olympia Martin of Ridgewood who won the Group 4 state title with an 18:43. Now in her junior year this was Olympia Martin's first time under 19 minutes at Holmdel, and what a time to set a huge course PR! In fact many of the top girls had fantastic races. Juliet Kohli of Montclair in second ran 18:50, this was nearly a 40 second course best for her!
This team race was a huge showdown between many of the top teams in the state. With the added wildcards five teams will be advancing from the Group 4. Ridge came out on top when the dust settled with 110 points, a split of 47 seconds and an average of 19:46. This was the best team performance of the meet according to the merge. In fact the top five teams in the merge came from this race. Number two and three are Hillsborough with their 19:52 team average and North Hunterdon averaging 20:04.
