NEW ORLEANS, LA -- In the first installment of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (UTSFCCCA) Regional Rankings, the Monmouth University men's harriers were tabbed No. 14 in the Mid-Atlantic Region, the origination announced this week. The Hawks, who closed out last season ranked 14th in the regional rankings, are one of three MAAC teams to be recognized in the poll.

The NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region includes thirty-seven teams from five states including New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware and Washington D.C.

"Both the men and women are doing a great job in training now," commented head coach Joe Compagni. "The keys to a successful season for both teams are positive momentum and consistent energy focused on building the strength and fitness we need for great finishes in all of our championship meets in October and November."

The men's squad welcomes back five of its top-seven from last year's squad. Seniors Graham Huggins-Filozof(Freewood Acres, NJ/Freehold Township) and Domenick D'Agostino (Wallington, NJ/Wallington), both All-East honorees from last season, and Kevin French (Fishkill, NY/John Jay) return to pace the team. Benjamin Dillon (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East), who finished second overall for the Hawks last year at the MAAC Championships and also captured All-East accolades, looks to build off his successful first year for the Blue and White.

The Hawks open the 2015 campaign with the MU XC Kick-Off on Saturday, September 5. The first race of the morning from Thompson Park will start at 9 a.m.
