For the boys championship race senior Aaron Barlev of Holmdel won individually with a time of 16:10. This was his best ever performance at this meet, and even better it is currently his Holmdel course personal best. Barlev is running hot, it is only October and he has already improved upon the time he ran at last year's Meet of Champions as well as his Group meet where he placed 7th with a time of 16:42 in 2013.

On the team side Christian Brothers may have held out some of their top guys but that only means it is time to see their insane depth in the spotlight. Led by senior Thomas Dengler in second with a 16:22 CBA won the meet with 30 points scoring 2-4-7-8-9 (11-14) and averaged 16:38 as a team. Their one through five split was a mere 23 seconds! Colts Neck had a great showing as well going 5-13-15-26-35 for 94 points and an average of 17:10. They were led by Zach Csipkay in fifth with a time of 16:44. One more thing to note about this Colts Neck team is that they didn't have a single senior in this race, a young team that has a lot of potential.

During the girls championship we had an awesome showdown between Marin Warner of Holmdel and Lauren Sapone of Red Bank Regional. Marin ended up winning with a 15 second lead on the final homestretch running an 18:30.99. The time was right on her personal course record which she ran at the 2013 Group Championships taking second at 18:30. This is the third straight 5K win she has posted this fall and with an early time matching her 2013 group race we should all be excited about what could come during this states season. Lauren Sapone of Red Bank Regional finished second with a time of 18:45. She's had a flury of top two finishes and victories this season and looks to have a great states season as well. Here are the top ten finishers from the girls varsity race.

As we look at the team race just note that there was a foul up at the finish chute when collecting the athlete's race numbers. The timer was able to salvage the top 58 places as official results, after that they were placed together based on collecting data from coaches and so on. The top 58 individuals and top three teams were unaffected.

The team winner was the NJ#1 rocking Red Bank Catholic squad who has been on a roll this whole season. They were led by an impressive 4-5 joint performance by senior MaryKate McNamara in fourth with a time of 19:13 and freshman Caitlin O'Hare in fifth with a 19:23! This is by far the best Holmdel run of McNamara's career, she had just set her personal course best at the Shore Coaches invite with a time of 19:43, a 40 second improvement! O'Hare is just a freshmen and already she has dropped her holmdel best down to a 19:23, she improved her 20:00 Shore Coaches time by 37 seconds! Below is a look at the rest of the top five for the Caseys. A 41 second split and 19:36 average.

The three teams in the table are the only teams that didn't have a placed runner possibly affected by the slip up at the finish chute as only the top 58 are definitely official times and places. I listed the rest of the top five teams in their order below the table without statistics to give credit for their awesome efforts.
