Now in its second year the Osprey Invitational is growing in numbers and talent field. The course, which is a full 3.1 mile 5K, is run entirely on grass, trails, and dirt roads.
Ocean City came, they saw, they conquered. The boys and girls squads both won the invitational along with high honor individual marks.
Winning the girls race individually was Epiphany Grisbaum of Ocean City who posted an 18:00.52, that was good enough to set the new high school course record! Also going sub-20 was Lauren Zodl of Pinelands Regional who took 2nd with a time of 19:09. Ocean City went on to win the meet with 26 points and a 1-3-4-6-12 spread averaging 20:07.87. Next best was Washington Township who scored 50 points and were led by Christina Fath in 7th at 20:54.

On the boys side Brandon Hadtke ripped an early season 16:31, which is also a course record for high school boys! He had some company though, only .22 seconds behind him was Pleasantville's Radcliffe Narinesingh at 16:31 as well. In fact Pleasantville would place 2-5 all under 17 minutes. Giovanni Aracena 16:41, Noah Prevard 16:44, and Alvaro Perdomo-Saez 16:53.
A tough combeback was in store for Ocean City though, they would bounce back with a team scoring spread of 1-7-8-10-11 for 37 points! Just three ahead of Pleasantville who finished second with 40 points. Misael Laureano was Pleasantville's fifth runner and placed 26th.
