NJCTC Champs - Resting Top Runners, CBA Goes Crazy

Christian Brothers Academy rested their top runners but that doesn't mean there won't be broken records by the end of the day with the Colts. The boys of fall amaze us again set the fastest course record for varsity, junior varsity, AND freshmen race at the NJCTC Championships!!! The Varsity race was a 31 year old course record! Their average was a 16:21.2 on the 5,250m course!

 

 

Varsity (5250 meters)

Junior Varsity (5250 meters)

Now onto the rest of the meet, there were 18 boys who went sub 17-minutes in the 5,250 race!! Fastest of all was Scott Meehan of Pope John who won with a personal best 15:56. The senior ran 16:40 in 2011 for 5th place as a sophomore.

On the girl's side, Kerry Dyke of Mount St. Mary Academy broke 19-minutes to win with 18:59. She finished with a 42 second lead! Below I have listed the top ten finishers. In the team race Union Catholic too the victory over the NJR#1 Red Bank Catholic squad 63 to 70. Red Bank Catholic rested their top runners in anticipation of the Group Championships this coming weekend.
