Entire MileSplit Network Going to Subscriptions

MileSplit has now served the high school running community for over 12 years. The network’s precursor was founded as the casual hobby of a high school junior back in 1997 and MileSplit itself was launched from a college dorm room in 2001. It has since grown to become the primary information source for high school cross country and track & field for the majority of the country.

Many of the MileSplit network sites from each state have been using subscriptions for years now with great improvements in traffic and coverage quality. MileSplit as a whole has been moving toward this standard and it has been decided that every MileSplit site will be a subscription state, New Jersey was one of the few major MileSplit states that wasn't using subscriptions. As of TODAY due to the entire network being switched and really by our own reasoning financially, NJRunners will become a subscription site. The price isn't expensive and the benifits help everyone.

NJRunners launched in 2005 and many things have changed since then. I hope you feel that the previous longtime webmaster Pat Montferrat and now I, Robert Kellert, have provided the track and field community in New Jersey a respectable service over the years. This move shouldn't be looked upon as a bad thing, the goal is to fund more coverage as well has improve the quality of said coverage in the long run. With your support the site can hire more photographers, reporters, equipment and so on. This was not chosen out of greed but to better the site and keep it going, if I were of greedy nature I probably wouldn't be running this site, this is more so a labor of love than not.

Please note that we are not locking down the entire website this is for extensive content, the rankings used for seeding the state meets are all going to continue being visible to the general viewers, and the main pages in profiles will remain open. For a quick run down on what will and will not be subscription content look below.

Here are the details on payment methods and so on:

We will offer monthly subscriptions at a rate of $4.99 per month. This plan will automatically renew each month, though you will be able to easily cancel it at any time. For those wanting access for the full year, we will offer annual subscriptions at $48 per year, a savings of $1 per month versus the month-to-month plan.

The auto-renewal will eliminate gaps in access to the site, and our new system will allow for instant processing of all subscriptions. Our previous system required manual processing of each order, which resulted in a delay until the subscription took effect--much to the dismay or confusion of many users.

Thank you for your viewership and support throughout the years and for the years to come. New Jersey is constantly high among the yearly site rankings. We love our track field and cross country here in the Garden State!

I am so pumped for cross country season,
