"They're Coming Out of the Woods"

If you have stood anywhere near the finish area on the Holmdel Park Cross Country course you've heard that sentence many times. It tells us spectators that the last 300 or so meters are about to be contested by the Boys and Girls who have made it to that point of the race. That line also holds true for the 2016 New Jersey XC season and these rankings.

We are "coming out of the woods" and headed to the finish line next Saturday with the crowning of our Top Teams at the Cross Country Meet of Champions. This is our last Rankings article for the year. We traditionally let the MOC results speak for themselves. I hope you found this series helpful each week as I know our selectors had a great time doing it every week. Enjoy this Groups Edition and we hope your Team find success as they finish a Great XC Season

Athlete of the Week: Elliot Gindi (Ocean Twp. '17) In probably the closest, most exciting Groups finish in memory, Gindi went right to the wire to defeat Millburn star Matt Grossman as both recorded the the fastest time of the day (15:27). Gindi and Grossman will lock horns once again this Saturday at MOC.
