Group 1 Conversation Notes

  • Stranieri | The team race should be very close between Kinnelon and Shore Reg. HS, but I'll go with Shore Reg. HS to squeak this one out.

Group 2 Conversation Notes

  • Kellert | Haddonfield girls ran very well at their Sectional led by Gess who will be looking to get the one card for her team once again in this race.

Group 3 Conversation Notes

  • Kellert | This is an interesting one to look at, NJ#8 Northern Highlands comes in winning their North 1 section. NJ#10 Colts Neck who won both Monmouth County and Shore Conference Championships over Middletown South lost their North 2 Section to Middletown South. Given that Holmdel is the same locale that Colts Neck ran so well during Monmouth County Champs... I'm going with them for the rebound win in a very tight race against Northern Highlands.
  • Stranieri | This will be an incredibly close team race between Colts Neck and Middletown South. Both teams are very familiar with the course. I'll take Colts Neck for the close win to avenge their loss to Middletown South from last week.

Group 4 Conversation Notes

  • Kellert | This weekly epic battle between NJ#1 North Hunterdon and NJ#2 Ridge is exactly the type of racing you want to see during states as a spectator, make sure you get a good spot for this one. North Hunterdon can avenge their 2015 Groups race which Ridge won this weekend.
  • Stranieri | Another week, another battle between Ridge and North Hunterdon. I really don't want to even pick a winner as this could go either way, but I'll go with North Hunterdon, given their track record this season.

Non Public A Conversation Notes

  • Kellert | Pope John XXIII and Union Catholic went head to head at the NJCTC Champions this past weekend where Pope John came out on top 47-56. They were led by a 1-2 finish with seniors Anna Campbell and Abigail Post. I'm picking Pope John for this one but don't count out a very young Union Catholic squad who held their own as well as the Red Bank Catholic girls who ran strong at their local Championships.

Non Public B Conversation Notes

  • StranieriI'll take Villa Walsh for the win here, led by Sophie Henderson taking the individual title, but it should be a close battle between them and Montclair Kimberley.
