What to Watch!

The top three seeds in this event already raced head to head in the Group 3 Championships last week. They are led by a sophomore, Caroline O'Sullivan of Old Tappan, who ran 2:15.10 to win her group championship and take over the state lead in the event. Christina Rancan of WWP South and Kayla Martin of Seneca are NJ#2 and #3 now this season.

NJ#5 and #6 Amari Onque-Shabazz of Union Catholic and Liz Chartier of Southern Regional both ran their best times of the season at Groups as well and probably haven't hit their season ceiling yet either. Onque-Shabazz is also the defending outdoor champion in the event where she ran 2:10.03 at MOCs.

I sense a new state leading time coming out of this one.

Prediction!

Amari Onque-Shabazz doesn't have as many races to go off of this season but her decorated history and foot speed in the event helps me place her #1 here. She is currently seeded 4th running 2:16.87 all alone in the Non-Public A race which she took out early, watch here. Winning time of 2:13 low. Caroline O'Sullivan a close second to return with some solid experience for next year.
