On Saturday, to the rhythmic sounds of onlookers at the Burlington County Open, Rancocas Valley junior Nick Mirabelli threw the second farthest javelin mark in the county this season. His 213-05 performance holds a 12 foot lead in New Jersey and only trails South Carolina's US#1 Liam Christensen's 220-02 on the national rankings board.
Mirabelli is now fifth all-time in New Jersey, the state record held by Curtis Thompson of Florence Twp who won the NJSIAA Meet of Champions in 2014 on a 224-10 bomb.
