Vena Breaks National Freshman Indoor Shot Put Record Jan 07, 2008

Nick Vena (Morristown, NJ) set the freshman national indoor record in the shot put Monday evening with a throw of 61-01.5" at the Morris County Relays.  Vena's mark bests Oklahoma great Kevin Bookout's record of 60-00.  Vena has continually improved his marks this season and it seemed only a matter of time before he earned the top spot.
