This time the Donovan Catholic star became only the second girl in US history to break the 56 foot barrier with her new US#2 all-time throw of 56-2.5. The performance came during her second attempt of the series. She inches ever closer to the national high school record of 56-7.5 held by Raven Saunders of Burke, DC, which was set in 2014 at New Balance Nationals Indoor. Saunders, who graduated high school in 2014, attended Southern Illinois University before transferring to the University of Mississippi and has won NCAA titles at both schools. Most recently she made the 2016 Olympic team placing fifth in Rio with a mark of 63-05.75. Alyssa Wilson 56'2.5"!!!! at Ocean County Championship. 2nd HS girl in US history to break the 56' barrier! @DonovanSports @NJMileSplit— Donovan Girls Track (@donovan_track) January 11, 2017 Want to see a video that better captures Alyssa Wilson's hang time?
