NJSIAA Announces Plans for Weather Conditions @ MOC

NJSIAA Press Release

Holmdel Park was adamant that we have a plan in place if they determined that conditions would not be good for parking in the fields during the meet of champions. Since remote parking is not feasible for this 2-race meet where more than 3000 spectators show up all at once and leave all at once, they approved of the following plan:

If current and/or predicted weather conditions indicate that a postponement will be necessary, the Park must notify the NJSIAA by 12:00 noon on the Friday before. The Park will decide which of the following postponement dates will be used, depending on actual and/or predicated weather for the weekend:

1. Postponed to Sunday afternoon: 2:00 pm and 2:45 pm race times

2.Postponed to Monday afternoon: 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm race times

3.Postponed to Tuesday afternoon 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm race times

Since the Thanksgiving Holiday is this week, going beyond Tuesday does not seem to be practical. However, if conditions warrant, it would be considered.

This language will be placed in all future contracts with officials, the ambulance company, Holmdel Police, and trainers, and will be placed in NJSIAA Cross-Country Championship Tournament Regulations. The statement would advise all to check the NJSIAA website in case of inclement weather happening or predicted for Thursday through the weekend to be sure the meet was going to take place as scheduled.

I would greatly appreciate you posting the above or something very similar on your website and in your blogs/articles for the coming week.

Thanks.
