Notre Dame Scores Again in Jersey!

Notre Dame continues it's success in recruiting  top New Jersey runners as Red Bank Catholic's Kevin Byrne Jr has committed to attend the school in the fall.  Michelle Brown of Seneca and DJ Thornton of Union Catholic are freshmen in South Bend this year as are thrower Peter Kristiansen (Delbarton) and sprinter Greg Morre (Pope John.  Jumper Connor Paladino of Skillman is a junior at the school.

Kevin had his official visit to South Bend in mid-September and in his words, "it just felt so right".  He subsequently visited two other top Big East universities but the feeling that Notre Dame was the right place stuck with him through those visits and the ensuing months.

Kevin has bests of 1:52.81, winning the Non-Public A 800 last spring, 2:26.78 for 1000 meters, 4:17.00 for 1600 and ran 16:09 at Holmdel in winning the Monmouth County Championships in October.
