* CR for Schoedler @ Cherokee Challenge * Fast Times at Randolph

Cherokee Challenge:

In a mad sprint to the finish, Ocean City senior Miles Schoedler set a course record  in the Senior Race at the Cherokee Challenge in Marlton.. Schoedler ran 9:28 over the 3200m layout to take a 5 sec. win from  Ben Potts of Haddonfield. Potts' time was equal to the former mark set by Jon "Boo" Vitez at last years race. Ocean City took the victory in the Junior race as well.  Erik Johnson turned in the 4th fastest time of the day with his 9:44 win over Quinn Devlin of Downingtown West (PA). Barnegat's 2nd year standout, Matthew Nelson  also dipped under 10:00 as he won the Soph race in 9:55.  Steve Garrett of powerhouse Tatnall (DE) ran 10:40 for the Frosh win. He was followed by a group of 5 Jerser yearlings who all went under 11:00. The grop was led by Clearview's  Bill Dolan and  Harrison Scott of Northern Burlington who clocked 10:52.

There was no lack of action on the Girls side at Marlton as  Megan Lacy  of the host school dipped under 11:00 taking the  Junior Race in 10:53. Her time is the #2 mark at the Challenge, behind the CR of 10:41 set by Jillian Smith of Southern Reg. in 2008.  Holly Bischof of Bishop Eustace took silver with the time of  11:11, making her the 5th fastest All-time at the meet.  Eastern Regional's Michelle Hess had the 4th best mark in winning the Senior race. While Tatnall took wins in the other 2 HS races , standout NJ performances came from Meghan Malloy (Cinnaminson) who took 3rd in the Soph race, running 11:52 and Haddonfields Shelby Cain with a 2nd in the Frosh race with a 12:20

 

Team Titles were earned as follows;

Girls - Tatnall (7 pts.)
Boys - Ocean City (22 pts)
Co-Ed - Tatnall (31 pts)

 

Randolph Invitational:

It did not take Randolph seniors  Collin Frost or  Joelle Amaral long to successfully start their 2010 XC campaigns last night. The Randolph Invitational, run under the lights, at Freedom Park saw 2 great performances, with Frost running 15:47.31 to take the Boys "A" race. In the Girls "A"  event Amaral went out like she was shot from a cannon, never faltered and raced home to an 18:17.06 win over teamate  Samantha Jones (19:13.72). Jones was competeing in her first ever Cross Country race.

In the nights other varsity races, St. Rose (Belmar) senior  Colin Richmond ran 16:15 to win the "C" event. Chatham's Anthony Malatesta won the "B" race with a16:32.47 effort. Amanda Corbosiero, a frosh from Mt. St. Dominic  Academy (Caldwell), debuted in 18:37.64, the 2nd fastest time of the night, to win the Girls "C" race and  Nisa Cicitta ran 19:18.41 to take the "B" contest. Ciitta led a very strong Voorhees squad, who won the team title in that race with 18 points.

 

Team champs in the other divisions were;

Boys "A" - Ridge (42 pts.)

Boys "B" - Chatham (65 ps.)

Boys "C" - St. Rose (35 pts)

Girls "A" - Randolph (33 pts.)

Girls "C" - Bronxville (27 pts.)
