Live From Hillsborough - CJ 1 & 4 Sectional

It's 86 degrees and sunny here in Hillsborough for the Central Jersey Groups 1 & 4 Sectional Championships. There's a nice breeze up in the press box and we'll be getting underway in about a half hour. Besides coverage here, NJRunners will have pictures coming from North Jersey and South Jersey.

Keep coming back for Results, Pictures and more.

Some observations from Day 1

The 1600m races followed similar patterns by group. Everett Price (New Providence) and Megan Flynnn (Robbinsville) both ran wire to wire races, gapping the field early and motoring to big wins. The group 4 races on the other hand were closely contestd with a lot of jockeying for position throughout the field. The WWP-So. duo of Macaluso and Schoepher ran great races with the Meet record going down. Jillian Prentice of Montgomery broke free from a very talented pack to take the girls race in sub 5.

Keith Griffith has one of the smoothest strides I've ever seen. In the G1 400m, Griffith gobbled up acres of track as he just kept accelerating, running 48.03 with no one in reach.

Rontik Sadler (Dunellen) is a very talented athlete. Only a junior, he took the G1 100. in10.89 and then went over and took the  HJ in 6'4"

Meet ends almost 4 hours to the minute after the 1st gun. I will finish summaries and post complete results ASAP.
