Noah Grant of Piscataway cooked up one of the most stunning sprint performances in New Jersey history in the 100-meter dash on Day One of the Greater Middlesex Conference Championships on Tuesday at Lombardi Field in Old Bridge.

Grant, who came into the meet with a solid PR of 10.70, threw down a massive PR when the senior lit up the track by burning a wind-legal 10.34 (+1.5 meters per second) to repeat as champion!!!!!  That's the second fastest wind-legal time in NJ history!

Only state record holder Malachi James of Burlington City has run a faster wind-legal time than Grant in NJ high school history. James ran his state record of 10.28 when he won the 100 at the Meet of Champions at Pennsauken High last year.

Grant, a senior who is headed to Wagner, and North Brunswick junior Jamell Wilmote, who was second in 10.55, obliterated the Middlesex County and meet record of 10.62 that Jayden Phillip of East Brunswick ran at the GMC Championships in 2022.

Between Grant, and Cole Cramer of Southern, who owns a pair of wind-legal 10.35 times in his career, there is a very good chance that the state record held by James could go down this season.
