Sianni Wynn, the sensational sprinter at Pennsauken, lit up the track on Saturday when the junior burned a 23.79 to shatter the state record in the  200--meter dash at the seventh meet of the South Jersey Track Coaches series at the Ott Center in Philadelphia.

That was her third win of the meet! She also captured the 55m dash in an N.J. No. 1 / U.S. No. 7 time of 7.00, and she captured the 55m hurdle race by running a PR of 8.28 for U.S. No. 4.

Wynn's time of 23.79 took down the 200-meter state record of 23.97 held by Sofia Swindell of Lawrenceville School since last March.

Note - there was a 220-yard performance of 23.87 that Trenton all-time great Wendy Vereen ran at the 1984 The Athletics Congress Championships at Madison Square Garden, which stood as the national high school record at the time.

Right behind Wynn on Saturday competing head to head was Ryan Jennings of Timber Creek, who placed second in 23.93 to move up to No. 3 all-time in New Jersey history, if including the Vereen 220-yard performance, and U.S. No. 2 this season.

Wynn, who has racked up seven Meet of Champions titles in her career (4 indoors and 3 outdoors), could also add the state record in the 55 dash to her collection this season.

She came into the season with an N.J. all-time No. 3 PR of 6.81 in the 55m, which she ran to finish first at the Meet of Champions last year. Only Michele Glover of Willingboro (6.73 in 1981) and Vereen (6.81 in 1984) have ever run faster in N.J. high school history.

Brown U.S. No. 5 High Jump, More Highlights From SJTCA #7

David Brown of Edison HS cleared 6-10 in the high jump to take over the New Jersey state lead and move up to US No. 5 this season. His previous PR indoors was 6-03 last winter and 6-04 outdoors from the 2023 season!

Jayden Poteat of Winslow Township won the 200m with a 21.72 N.J. No. 3 / U.S. No. 9 performance as well as the 55m dash clocking 6.52 for NJ No. 8. That 200m race basically rewrote the New Jersey rankings with six boys in total breaking into the top ten this season.

Ella Karp of Washington Twp won the shot put with a N.J. No. 3 / U.S. No. 14 mark of 41-5.5.

Theresa Albertson of Eastern Regional won a hard-fought 3200m at 11:30.22, N.J. No. 7, just ahead of Ryan Dankanis of Haverford Township 11:31.07, the P.A. state leader this season.
