Timber Creek Girls Make Two Finals At The Penn Relays


PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Timber Creek girls lit up the track by blazing their way to a pair of finals on the opening day of the 128th Penn Relays on Thursday at Franklin Field.   

The Chargers began their day when junior Billie Frazier, junior Ryan Jennings, junior Samiyah Puckett, and senior Naylah Jones ran 47.15 to place third in their 4x100-meter relay heat, No. 18 in NJ history. Timber Creek missed the Championship of America race by just .08 as they turned in the 11th fastest time of the meet, but it did qualify for Friday's Northeast final at 2 p.m.  

A few hours later, Frazier (58.27), Naylah Jones (55.23), freshman Taylor Gaines (57.30) and Jennings (55.25) blasted a 3:46.04 to win their heat and nail down a berth in Friday's 12-team Championship of America race at 4:55 p.m. Timber Creek's 3:46.04 was the 6th fastest time of the day and is No. 18 in state history.
