The Piscataway Twp boys were down nine points to Washington Twp entering the 4x400m finale of the Group 4 NJSIAA State Relay Championships.
In the final heat of the meet Piscataway Twp controlled their own destiny with Washington Twp not in scoring position, but if they wanted the team champion they needed to win. Standing in their way was West Orange HS, the No. 3 ranked 4x400m squad in New Jersey.
Piscataway Twp was still in second entering the final lap of the race and it took every meter of the 4x400m race but a strong surge down the final stretch by anchor Noah Grant carried them to the win and the overall Group 4 title. Their first in school history.
