Morris Knolls pulled off a stunning sweep of the team titles at the Morris County Relays on Wednesday night at Drew University in Madison.
It's the second straight title for the Morris Knolls boys, the first championship for the Morris Knolls girls since 2012, and the first time the Golden Eagles pulled out the broom to sweep the titles.
On the girls side, Morris Knolls, which defeated runner-up Roxbury, 50-34, picked up wins in the shuttle hurdles (33.62-just off the meet record of 33.62 set by Randolph in 2016), the 4x800 (10:18.76), the shot put and the high jump.
Junior Alicia Ramos, senior Erica Saladino, and junior Emily O'Dell were all double winners for Morris Knolls.
Ramos and O"Dell ran on the shuttles and teamed up to win the high jump, and Saladino ran on the shuttles and helped her team win the shot put.
In the boys competition, Morris Knolls, which outscored runner-up Delbarton, 54-48, won four events - the 4x400 in a meet record 3:31.91, the shuttle hurdles (31.86), the 4x800 (8:27.34), and the high jump with a combined 11-0. The 3:31.91 by the Golden Eagles in the 4x400 took down the meet record of 3:33.52 set by Morris Hills in 2016.
Seniors Luke Schagelin and Elijah Bastos led the charge for Morris Knolls.
The University of Tennessee Schagelin, the state leader in the 800 at 1:57.99, split 50.21 as the anchor in the 4x400, dropped a 1:55.37 in the 4x800, and ran 4:27 and change on the 5th place DMR. Bastos cleared 5-6 in the high jump, and ran on the shuttles, the 4x400, and the runner-up 4x200.

Cade Zeolla of West Morris cleared 15-0 for the second time this season, which places him at NJ No. 2 behind the 15-3 by Ryan Merlino of Oakcest made on Wednesday night at the Bennett Center. Zeolla took a shot at 15-6, which would have broken the Morris County record, but wasn't able to clear it.
Zeolla, a junior, is chasing the Morris County indoor record of 15-0.25, which was set by a his brother, James, when James cleared that to win the State Group 3 title in 2020.
There were four sub 11 minute times in the boys DMR.
Chatham won with a NJ No. 3 time of 10:48.62 Morris Hills was second with a NJ No. 4 time of 10:48.89. Randolph was third in 10:55.04, and Delbarton was fourth in 10:57.75.
