The boys championship race ran a little longer than the scheduled 5K after some misdirection but the 3.24 distance didn't stop Memorial WNY junior Samuel Cubides from the title running 17:27.
He became the first Memorial WNY winner since Francis Martingale won his third straight in 2018. That was the final year of a long stretch of individual championships including Rafael Hernandez the years prior as well.
He also led Memorial WNY to the team win sparking a perfect score of 15 points! Also including scoring teammates Julian Canon, Angel Perez, Jorge Castillo nj, and Gabriel Rodriguez.

Senior Liz Fis earned the girls title with a time of 19:43, the first Union City HS winner since Rachel Malkowski won two straight in 2016 and 2017.
Memorial WNY girls made it two straight team championships with a score of 36 to 55 over Union City. Leslie Munoz started them off finishing second overall at 20:16.10.
Johanna Saenz, Lizbeth Castillo, Carolina Ramos, Valeria Barrera were in their scoring five. Their six and seven, Kelly Gonzalez and Kiara Vasquez, also displaced points on the back end of Union City's scoring five.
