Ugh! The weather caught up to us on Sectionals weekend and a few meets were delayed throughout their day one events, a few had to suspend the action until Saturday with a few races to go.
Suspended Meets
North 1 Groups 1 and 4 Suspended
Due to lightning and weather delays the North 1 Groups 1 and 4 Sectional Championships in Clifton will be suspended until Saturday morning 9:30am. The NJSIAA announced the news to NJ MileSplit on Friday evening.
The events order will pick up where it left off on Friday night. On the track the meet had made it through the Group 4 girls 3200m run.
South Groups 1 and 4 Suspended
Due to lightning the South Groups 1 and 4 Sectional Championships in Pennsauken will be suspended until Saturday morning at 9:30am. The meet had a few more 3200m races to go. Race videos from day one will be uploaded later tonight.
South Groups 2 and 3 Field Events Suspended
The South Group 2 boys pole vault and girls discus are incomplete and will resume Saturday morning.
Meets Experiencing Delays
North 1 Groups 2 and 3 Running Behind
We don't have word yet on the plan for North 1 Groups 2 and 3 but there have been lightning delays from the start of that meet and it is running behind. Once we have official word on the game plan we will update the article.
North 2 Groups 2 and 3 Running Behind
The North 2 Groups 2 and 3 look like they are attempting to close out their events, this site experienced some thunder and lightning delays earlier in the day.
