Elizabeth Trio Sign National Letters of Intent


Three of Elizabeth's biggest stars, Cynthia Boakye, Linya Gedeon, and Dean Joseph, signed their National Letters of Intent during a ceremony at the school on Tuesday.

Boakye, one of the state's top sprinters, signed with Rutgers, Joseph is headed to Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Gedeon is off to Coffeyville Community Junior College. 

Boakye had a sensational indoor season, highlighted by a victories at the Eastern States Championships in the 200 and at the State Group 4 Championships in the 55 dash. She has PR's of 7.16 in the 55 dash, 12.43 in the 100m, 24.64 in the 200, and 57.32 in the 400.

Gedeon, a sprinter/hurdler, ran 8.44 in the 55 hurdles indoors, and has run 15.14 in the 100 hurdles so far this spring.      

Joseph, also a sprinter/hurdler, is coming off a personal best of 56.88 in the 400 hurdles at the Union County Relays last week.
