South Brunswick Sweeps Greater Middlesex Conference Relays




South Brunswick's reign of supremacy continued with another sweep for the Vikings at the Greater Middlesex Conference Relays at South Brunswick.

The South Brunswick boys made history by rolling to a fourth straight title, 98-64 over East Brunswick, to give the Vikings the GMC all-time record all to themselves with 11 total championships. That's one more than Old Bridge and St. Joseph (Met.).  

Meanwhile, the South Brunswick girls defeated runner-up Old Bridge 89-80 to capture its second straight title and extended its record to GMC record to 16 overall!! That's two more than Old Bridge   

In the boys competition, Old Bridge placed in 14 of 16 events on the way to its decisive 34-point win over East Brunswick. The Vikings struck gold in 5 events,  the 3x400 IH, 4x400, triple jump, shot put, and the javelin.

On the girls side, South Brunswick's depth and balance was the difference as the Vikings scored in 15 of the 16 events. South Brunswick picked up its two victories in the 400 hurdles, and the 4x1,600, and piled up six runner-up finishes (shuttles, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, high jump, shot put, and pole vault.
