The girls meet saw four NJ No. 1 performances on Saturday and multiple meet records were broken.
Individually in the javelin Millville HS's star senior Leah Howard opened outdoor season with a meet record 146-2, which held on as the state leading performance through the weekend. Howard is the top state returner for the event and has a PR of 148-2 which won her the 2022 Group 4 state title.
Timber Creek girls earned two state leading times on the track. In the 4x100m they recorded a meet record 48.96 and doubled back in the 4x200m for another state leading meet record 1:41.90!
During the distance medley relay the Clearview Reg. HS girls clocked a meet record 12:52.44, another early NJ No. 1.
Ciara Demarest threw a mark of 40-7.5 to lead the shot put, ranks NJ No. 2 and it set a new meet record. The Williamstown HS senior also doubled back in the discus for second with a mark of 116-5 NJ No. 7.
Ahmad Fogg of Egg Harbor Twp HS cleared 44-1.75 during the triple jump to earn the individual victory and holds NJ No. 1 through week one of the season. Fogg also made 21-2.5 in the long jump and cleared 6-0 in the high jump for fourth overall.
During the discus throw Rancocas Valley's Devon Brooks hit a meet record mark of 167-11, NJ No. 6.
Ocean City boys broke the meet record in the DMR running NJ No. 2 10:50.82.
