NJ MileSplit would like to visit more meets every week North, Central, and South around New Jersey. But to do so we need more contributors on our team.
Our current focus is finding more help recording race videos but we're also interested in someone to take over a small stipend role for more interviews and articles.
Video Contributor - Race Videos (Primary Need)
Have general knowledge about how a track and field meet flows and a video camera. Please reach out to robert.kellert@flosports.tv with your background in the sport, area you'd be interested in covering, and for more information. This is a contractor role paid per meet and those looking to gain their first experience in coverage are welcome. This is also open to those who would like to remain in a particular area of the state.
We are interested in finding multiple contributors across different parts of New Jersey.
General Overview: Bring video camera and stand to selected meet, record every heat in separate video files, after the meet concludes name the videos and upload to the meet page. Paid per meet, rates may vary depending on season or outlier factors but generally this will be around $100 per meet.
Video Contributor - Field Specialist / Interviews
Someone with full understanding of field events who could travel to key matchups or high quality entry fields for the field events to record the competition. Would like these to be recorded flight by flight similarly to the race videos so they are digestible content and easy to find for viewers when uploaded.
Since less athletes would be covered in action on this field focused videos we'd also ask this contributor to take on some video interviews as well from various events in the field and on the track.

Coverage Contributor - Articles and Video Interviews
Someone with knowledge of track and field interested in visiting meets for video interviews and accompanying content. Writing recaps and or feature articles. Brainstorming with State Editor and other contributors on content ideas.
General Overview: Someone who can arrive at a meet and know what to follow and cover visiting track and field events throughout the facility. Interview winners and find stories to write about. This is not a full-time position, is a fixed monthly stipend role renewed season to season.
