Athletes of the Week Ending 11/14

It's hard to argue against either of the NJRunners athletes of the week for the week ending November 14th.  The Rosa brothers and Chelsea Ley haven't lost all season (not counting the Mercer County meet).  Once again the 3 of them proved to be that good.

Chelsea Ley got a good push from Megan Venables (Highlands Regional) for most of the way, but in the end was not match for Ley's toughness.  Ley won the Group 3 race and it was her first Group Championship crown.  Ley will hope to continue her dominance over New Jersey this coming Saturday at the grand finale, the Meet of Champions

The Rosa brothers have been nothing less that perfect this cross country season.  So when the two of them came trotting out of the woods to finish their Group 3 race side by side nobody was shocked.  What people were shocked about was how fast it was.  There was a time not to long ago when under 15:40 would get you first place 9 times out of 10 in the MOC.  Well not this year.  The Rosas crossed the line in their race with a time of 15:37 and they almost looked like they were jogging.  They currently have PR's of 15:04 and 15:16 on the historic course.  Could we be looking at sub 15:00 for Joe and sub 15:10 for Jim?
