The Ridge boys made a big statement by throwing down a US No. 1 time of 10:17.36 to win the distance medley relay at the Virginia Showcase at the Virginia Beach Sports Center on Friday night.
Andrew McCabe led off for Ridge with a 3:09.85 1,200 leg. Patrick Doran followed with a 51.9 400, and James Kisker covered the 800 leg in 1:58.6. All-American and Georgetown-bound Jackson Barna finished off the victory with a 4:15.9 anchor carry. Ridge finished nearly five seconds ahead of runner-up Severna Park of Maryland, second in 10:22.24.
McCabe and Barna both ran on Ridge's DMR that finished second in 10:02.46 at the Outdoor National Championships last June at Hayward Field in Oregon.
McCabe, Doran, Kisker, and Barna will share the baton again on Saturday when they team up to run the 4x800 relay at the prestigious meet in Virginia Beach,.
