Tyler Zawatski of Freehold Township, one of the top javelin throwers in the country, announced his college decision on Monday night.
The winner is the University of Virginia!
Zawatski owned the javelin in New Jersey last spring. He won every major championship possible in the state, highlighted by a personal best bomb of 191-1 to win the Meet of Champions title.
Zawatski's 191-1 was the not only the best throw in the state for the entire season, but it was also No. 10 in the country among all underclassmen.
In addition to his M of C title last spring, Zawatski also won the javelin at the Monmouth County (184-11), Shore Conference (188-3), Central Jersey, Group 4 (186-10), and State Group 4 Championships (186-3).
