Jackson Braddock, who was who was sick with COVID just two months ago, amazingly still managed to throw down one of the greatest performances in state history at the Ocean County Championships on Friday at Jackson Liberty High School.
Braddock, a senior at Southern Regional, burned up the track on his way to a sizzling NJ No. 8 All-Time 4:06.25 in the 1600-meter run, which smashed the Ocean County record and moved him into the No. 4 spot on the US list this season.

The University of Virginia-bound Braddock, who ran 62 point for each of his first three laps before closing in 60 point, broke the Ocean Country record of 4:07.31 that Chris Marco of Toms River South ran to win the Meet of Champions in 2012.
Braddock's 4:06.25 puts him in some fast company as he became just the fourth runner in state outdoor history to crack the Top 10 All-Time list in both the 1600m and 3200m!!!!
Last summer, Braddock dropped an 8:54.02, No. 10 in state history, to win the 3,200-meter run at the Music City Distance Carnival at Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee.
