On this day in 2020 we were lucky to have the NJSIAA Meet of Champions cap yet another impressive season of New Jersey track and field. Shortly after its conclusion we saw the world change and it wasn't limited to sports, National events were cancelled, quarantine was placed, we lost outdoor track and field, and we are still feeling the effects and toll of the pandemic today.
There were plenty of great additions to the indoor meet last year. With a new home at the state of the art New York facility Ocean Breeze New Jersey athletes were able to fully showcase their end of season fitness and it showed. The meet was live streamed on NJ MileSplit making sure the entire NJSIAA state series was in one place. An overhaul to the advancement procedures made sure more top athletes were in attendance, and the long and triple jump were added to the day of events schedule.
