The fall of 2014 saw a power struggle up front heading into the girls Meet of Champions race.
Switch to Boys Race
Eve Glasergreen of North Hunterdon had laid down the fastest Holmdel time of the season to win Group 4 at 18:15.
The Group 3 race alone had set an interesting stage, Sierra Castaneda of West Morris Central had out battled Northern Highlands' Catherine Pagano for the Group 3 title 18:22 to 18:25. Epiphany Grisbaum of Ocean City had dropped, what was then, a major Holmdel PR to place third 18:34, rising Mainland freshman Alyssa Aldridge right behind in fourth 18:36.
Marin Warner of Holmdel won the Group 2 state title dethroning Briana Gess of Haddonfield who had won the Meet of Champions as a freshman the year before. Grace Dwyer, Rachel Suss, and others all looking strong as well.

Now to the Meet of Champions race, on the back hills the young Aldridge had the lead with Glasergreen on her heels. Five seconds behind Grisbaum had just passed Warner for third and had her sights on the two battling out front.
By the time the race popped out of the woods to the final stretch Grisbaum had the lead and took home the win at 18:20 with Aldridge in second at 18:22. Glasergreen held on for third and a battle ensued for the next handful of spots! Rachel Suss 18:35, Sierra Castaneda 18:35, Marin Warner 18:36, and Stephanie Mauer 18:38.
In the team race Red Bank Catholic won the girls title over Hillsborough 88 to 95, Hillsborough had scored their first two runners before RBC's first but RBC had the stronger four and five to get the job done. Red Bank Catholic was led by Eryn Mills in 21st, scoring 9 points, clocking 19:12. They averaged 19:33 as a team and split just 43 seconds between their top five.
