After James Bell finished seventh in the long jump at the State Group 2 Championships on Saturday at Central Regional in Bayville, he made a prediction when he walked past the press tent on his way to the starting line on the track.
"You don't want to miss this,'' said Bell, a senior at West Side. "We about to go 3:15!''
Bell, referring to the meet-concluding 4x400 relay, and his teammates backed up his bold words by blasting a NJ#1 3:15.93 to win the Group 2 4x400!!

Jakai Coker led off in 48.1, Quincy Hendy followed with a 48.6, Jarrett Gentles split 48.7 on the third leg, and Bell anchored in 49.9.
The 4x400 victory caped off a great meet for Bell, who cleared a NJ#1 6-11 to repeat as Group 2 champ in the high jump on Friday.
After celebrating its victory, Bell and his teammates had a message for the rest of the 4x400 teams in the state they will race at the Meet of Champions next week.
