One of the biggest weekends of the season is here as the Road to the Meet of Champions makes two finals stops-at Franklin High School and Central Regional High School for the State Group Championships today and tomorrow. 

Both meets start today at 2:30 p.m.

MileSplit will have wall-to-wall coverage at both meets with tons of photos, race videos, results and much, much more.

I'm trackside at Central and will be providing you with live updates. As soon as I get the info, you will be the second to know. Updates and highlghts wil be listed down below.

Hey, don't forget that the qualifying procedure to the Meet of Champions has changed this year.

7:00 p.m. Marisa DiGia of Old tappan wins girls G3 PV at 11-6.

6:55p.m. Colts Neck wins girls G3 4x800 in 9:29.15.

6:50 p.m. Stephon Gordon-Kelley of Carteret wins the boys G2 TJ with a meet record 48-3 1/2 on his final attempt. FYI - the state TJ record is 50-9 1/4

6:47 p.m.  Riley Larson of Point Boro clears a school record 12-6 win the girls G2 PV   

6:46 p.m. Caroline Dannebuam of Pingry win the girls A PV with a 12-0

4:32 p.m. Chris Tavarone of Morris Knolls wins the boys G3 discus with a 172-5

4:28 p.m. Still waiting on results of the 100 and Girls A and Group 3 1,600.

4:18 p.m. State record holder Brielle Smith of Oakcrest wins the Group 2 girls javelin with a record 151-5. Smith set the state record earlier this season with a 168-6. 

4:15 p.m. Girls Group 3 1,600 - Julia Trethaway and Alexa Westley aren't running!     

4:14 p.m. Lauren Wagner of Voorhees and Emma McGill and go 1-2 in the girls G2 1,600.  Wagner went 4:54.80 and McGill 4:55.66. 

4:09 p.m. Girls Group 2 1,600 is next

4:07 p.m. Kennith Washington of Seton Hall Prep goes 45-2 to win the boys A TJ

4:04 p.m. Maura Campbell of Pope John wins the girls A TJ at 35-9. 

4:03 p.m. UPenn-bound Mark Anselmi of Middletown South, the indoor M of C HJ winner, made a PR and school record 6-9 1/4 to win the Group 3 HJ.   

4:01 p.m. Tierra Hooker of Timber Creek just soared a NJ#1 19-0 to win the girls Group 3 LJ!  She won the M of C title in the HJ indoors. 

3:56 p.m. James Bell of West Side just made a NJ#1 6-11! to win Group 2 HJ !for 2nd straight ytear!!! He just missed at 7-0.

3:55 p.m. Tim McInerney of CBA wins the boys A 1,600 in 4:13.62.

3:50 p.m. Sean Dolan of Hopwell Valley just ripped a NJ#1 4:10.76 to win the Group 3 1,600!!! 59.4 last 400 for Dolan!!! Jack Stanley of Mendham 2nd in 4:13.85

3:11 p.m. Dash trials are on the track

3:08 p.m. What a race by Austin Gabay of Cinnaminson, who drops a 58.6 final 400 and holds off Derek Gess of Haddonfield to win the boys G2 1,600 in 4:16.02!! Gess 2nd in 4:16.60!

Gabay, who had a previous best of 4:17.79, was fourth in the SJ 1,600 race last week.

3:03 p.m. Boys Group 2 1,600 is on deck

3:00 p.m. JR. Aliya Rae Garozzo of Paul VI came storming back from behind to win the girls 400H for the 2nd straight year in NJ#1 1:00.95!!!! Mariah Fede of Paramus Catholic was second in a NJ#2 1:01.02. 

That's a huge PR,. her previous best of 1:01.41 came when Garozzo was third at the Meet of Champs last year.  

2:58 p.m. UPenn-bound Grace O'Shea of Ramapo just blasted a NJ#4 and PR of 1:01.16 to win the girls Group 3 400H!!!  

2:55 p.m. Junior Meredith Updike of Cinnaminson runs 1:01.48 to win her 2nd straight girls Group 2 400h title. That crushed her old PR of 1:02.66 that Updike ran to win the SJ sectional title last week.

2:49 p.m. Girls 400H are next 

2:48 p.m. Liam O'Hara gives CBA 10 points by winning the boys A 400H in 55.34.  

2:47 p.m. First year hurdler Jaheem Hayles of Roselle wins the the boys Group 2 400H in 53.34!! That's a new school record!! Ray Clarke had the school record of 54.35. 

2:46 p.m. Terris Burton of Hamilton East wins the boys Group 3 400H for 2nd straight year in 53.27.  Burton has run a NJ#2 52.93 this season.

2:45 p.m. I know you are waiting for some results. That's because I am waiting also. As soon as I get some, they will be here. I promise!!

2:40 p.m. The great Fred Rucker is working the mic here!!!! Ruck is a legendary coach in NJ at Willingboro and Lenape!


2:29 p.m. Here we go. Group 2 boys 400 hurdles on the track.


2:20 p.m. Beryl Roman, who coaches at Gov. Livingston, just rocked the National Anthem!!  Great job, Coach!! 

1:45 p.m. Just rolled into Central. It's 82 degrees with a decent breeze here.
