400 Meter Dash - State Rankings



Rich Bevensee, the vastly under rated vocalist, long time track and field reporter, and my former T&F sidekick gets the meet kicked off with a very unique and stylish singing of the National Anthem!!!!! 

Hey Rich!!!! Do they have a Masters version of American Idol!!

Kaira Brown of Kent Place is the defending champ

Brown jumps to the front right away and hammers her way to her second straight title in around 55.91, No. 13 in meet history and just off her season best of 55.79 

1600 Meter Run - State Rankings

10:09 a.m. First heat is off.

Here we go with the seeded heat.

Jerika Lufrano of Union Catholic and Camryn Wennersten of Ridgewood move away from the field and battle it out over the final 400.

Lufrano makes a big move on the backstretch of the final lap and wins by a couple strides over Wennersten.   

Lufrano wins with a PR and NJ#5 4:59.26. Wennersten is 2nd in 4:59.73

800 Meter Run - State Rankings

10:47 a.m. 3 heats.  First heat is off. 

Victoria Vanriele of Gov. Livingston is going for her third straight title and is seeking to take down her own meet record of 2:08.81 that she ran last year. 

Vanriele wins in around 2:09. Waiting for official time! 


VANRIELE WINS IN A US#7 2:09.18, just off her meet record of 2:08.81.  She goes 29.8/ 61.7/1:34.9/2:09.18.

Vanriele is just the third girl to ever win 3 straight 800 titles!!! Vanriele now owns the 2 fastest times in meet history!!



Jr. Leena Morant of Union Catholic is 2nd with an indoor PR, NJ#3 and school record 2:13.08 and soph. Katie Hamilton of Westfield is 3rd out of an unseeded heat with a PR and NJ#6 2:16.26!!! 

200 Meter Dash - State Rankings

11:05 a.m. Senior Shauntae Nelson of Piscataway wins her 2nd straight title in 25.03. 

55 Meter Hurdles - State Rankings

11:15 a.m. Rutgers-bound Claudine Smith of Atlantic City wins with a PR and NJ#3 8.03. Tobias didn't run. Tweaked a hammy in trials. 

10:23 a.m. Trials are on the track.

Claudine Smith of Atlantic City runs the top time in the trials of 8.06. Tionna Tobias of Winslow ran 2nd fastest time of 8.13. Smith was 4th the last 2 years and 6th last spring in the HH

ASH WINS IN a NJ#1 7.06!!!  Page 2nd in a NJ#2 7.07.

Caroline Dannenbaum of Pingry wins!! She tied the meet record of 12-6 and joins her sister Julia as a M of C PV winner. Julia won the PV for Pingry at this meet in 2017!!! How cool is that!!!

Tierra Hooker, a junior at Timber Creek, wins the HJ by clearing 5-8!

Haddon Heights Jr. Cydney Thomas, 4th last year, wins with a 42-4 3/4. Thomas is NJ#1 and US#7 in the shot with a 46-1!!!
