Welcome to the updates hub for Wednesday's NJSIAA Group 4 State Relay Championships. Below you'll find an updates feed where we'll post event winners and more as well as a team score update that will show who the top three teams are through a certain amount of events scored.
We will be recording races all meet, coaches and parents if you happen to record a major performance in the field events we would love to feature that as well. Media can be sent to rkellert@milespit.com.

Hey all you track and field nuts.
I'm here next to the finish line to keep you up to date on all the action here at the State Group 4 Relays, so stay tuned and keep refreshing.
First event is the girls DMR. 2 heats.
Here we go!!!
Gun is off right at 3:45.
GIRLS DMR
Eastern wins the first heat in around 13:26.
Second and final heat of the girls DMR is on the track. NJ#1 Randolph and Ridgewood aren't here to run this. They have their county meets tonight.
Hunterdon Central has a step lead on Ridge at first handoff. 3:53 and change for HC's leadoff runner.
Ridge opens a big lead on 800 leg with South Brunswick 2nd at final handoff.
Freshman star Caroline Mehlhorn splits 5:02 and change and comes from way back on the anchor leg to give Montgomery the victory in the girls DMR in a NJ#3 12:27.51. Ridge second in a NJ#4 12:29.71
BOYS DMR - 2 heats
Monroe wins the first heat in around 11:03.18
Second and final heat is on the track.
Great battle going into the bell lap between Memorial, Cherokee, and Kingsway!!
Memorial wins by a couple strides with a great anchor from Francis Martingale, who goes 4:21.7!!!
Memorial goes NJ#5 10:36.79. Cherokee 2nd in 10:37.06, and Kingsway third in 10:38.53
GIRLS SHUTTLES ARE NEXT
Eastern wins a red hot final section to win the event in a GROUP 4 MEET RECORD AND NJ#1 31.58!!! Millville is 2nd in a NJ#2 31.93.
Eastern's 31.58 broke the Group 4 meet record of 31.6 set way back in 1986 by Plainfield.
BOYS SHUTTLES
South Brunswick goes 30.94 to grab the boys title in the shuttles!!
5:20 p.m. 4X200 GIRLS ARE UP
Lots of heats
WOW!!! Huge comeback anchor from Piscataway's Shauntae Nelson (she split 25.2) may have given the Chiefs the win right at the line. Great 3 way finish betwwen P-way, Millville, and Rancocas Valley.
P-Way does get the win in a NJ#9 1:45.84. Rancocas 2nd in 1:45.87, and Millville third in 1:45.91. Told you it was close!!!!
BOYS 4X200
East Orange comes into this with a NJ#2 1:30.60. Should be a great battle with Elizabeth.
Elizabeth's anchor catches East Orange to give the Minutemen the win in a GROUP 4 RECORD 1:31.33. Elizabeth broke its own record of 1:31.49 that they ran last year.
6:08 P.M. - GIRLS 4X800 IS ON THE TRACK
Ridge wins big in a NJ#2 9:36.31. Morgan Lyons had a 2:18.5 split for Ridge.
6:35 p.m. - BOYS 4X800
North Hunterdon grabs the gold in a NJ#6 8:07.98.
BOYS SHOT PUT RESULTS ARE IN
State Leader Kyle Lipscomb of Linden had the top throw with a 54-10. His best this season is 58-6.
North Brunswick picks up the win with a combined 97-1. Linden is 2nd and Elizabeth gets a big third to increase its lead in the standings. Elizabeth leads the boys competition with 20 points.
GIRL POLE VAULT
Sabrina Ray of South Brunswick clears 11-0 for the top vault of the competition.
Hunterdon Central goes a combined 19-6 to win on misses over South Brunswick.
GIRLS SHOT PUT
Soph. Bryanna Wilson leads Howell to victory with a meet best throw of 39-11 1/4
7:05 p.m. - GIRLS SMR
South Brunswick's anchor uses a big final 200 to rally for the win in the final heat. Around 4:17 and change for South Brunswick. Have to wait and see if they beat Millville's time from the first heat.
Millville wins out of that first heat in 4:17.37. South Brunswick went 4:17.70 in the final heat to get 2nd.
Millville, which also got 3rd in the shot put and 2nd in the high jump, has clinched its first state relay title!!! CONGRATS TO MILLVILLE!!!
Millville has 37 points, 14 more than Montgomery, with one event to go-the 4x400
GIRLS HIGH JUMP
Abrianna Barrett of Montgomery cleared a meet best 5-6 and Freehold Township won the event with a combined 10-4, which ties the school record.
BOYS HIGH JUMP
Christian O'Neal of Trenton clears a meet best 6-6 and East Orange wins the event with a combined 12-2.
BOYS POLE VAULT
Jake Stocki of East Brunswick clears a meet best 14-6 to lead his team to victory.
7:36 p.m.- BOYS SMR
South Brunswick gets a 1:57.2 anchor from Miles Liggins and goes 3:36.92 to grab its second gold of the meet to take the lead in the team standings!!!
With 2 events to go (PV and 4x400), South Brunswick leads East Orange, 28-22. Elizabeth is third with 20.
8:01 p.m. GIRLS 4X400 .
Millville puts finishing touches on its first ever state title by winning the 4x400 in 4:05.49!!!
BOYS 4X400
It all comes down this this!!! South Brunswick leads East Orange, 28-22. Elizabeth is third with 20.
Piscataway wins the 4x400 in 3:26.92. P-way junior Christian Davis goes 49.78on the anchor to rally past EO.
EO gets 2nd. Elizabeth is third and South Brunswick gets 4th to win the team title.
South Brunswick edges defending champion East Orange, 32-30 for the team title!!!!
Third state title for South Brunswick. They also won in 2013 and 2014!
