New Jersey dominated the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championships on Wednesday by sweeping all four titles at Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pa.

In the girls race, freshman sensation Charlotte Bednar of Hun continued her torrid late season run by winning the race by nearly a minute, and Lawrenceville rolled to the team title.

Bendar, who won the Mercer County and NJ Prep A titles in her previous two races, grabbed a quick lead and was never challenged as she ran away with the girls title in 18:10, 54 seconds ahead of runner-up  Sophia Divone of Mercersburg.

In the girls team competition, Lawrenceville, second last year to Mercersburg, packed its five scoring runners in the top nine on the way to a 26-60 victory over Mercer County rival Peddie. Caroline Kim led the charge for Lawrenceville by placing fourth in 20:54. Lawrenceville also win the NJ Prep A Championships last week at Blair.

On the boys side, Peddie overcame a 1-2 finish by Lawrenceville and rallied to win the team title in dramatic fashion, 42-45, which avenge its loss to Lawrenceville last week.

After Lawrenceville's Robert Enck , who was second last year, crossed the line first in 16:37, and teammate Vishnu Rajakannan took second in 16:48. Peddie found itself in a big hole.

But Peddie, second last year to The Hill School (Pa.) by five points, responded as its No. 3 and No. 4 runners picked up five points on Lawrenceville's No. 3 and No. 4 runners to tie the score at 26-26. With the outcome of the meet haning in the balance, Peddie's No. 5 man, Evan Glas, finished three places and six seconds ahead of Lawrenceville's No. 5 runner to give Peddie the championship. Peddie finished 3-5-6-12-16 and Lawrenceville went 1-2-9-14-19

The victory by Peddie, which finished 3-5-6-12-16, reverses the result from the NJ Prep A Championships last week when Lawrenceville was second with 54 and Peddie took third with 75.
