There were first time champions, long droughts snapped, a state record set, a co-championship that resulted from great sportsmanship, and there were three programs that swept titles at the NJSIAA Sectional Championships, which concluded on Saturday.
New Providence, Rahway and Rancocas Valley were the three programs that captured both boys and girls titles. The Haddonfield girls won a state record 18th title, and Hanover Park and Whippany Park shared a title.
When the dust settled, 41 sectional team champions were crowned.
