On Saturday Sydney Hawkins, the 2018 Indoor Meet of Champions 55m dash winner, took over the state lead in the 100m with her winning time of 11.95 at the Lion Invitational, just .01 off her meet record of 11.94 set the year before. She doubled back to also win the 200m running 25.51 NJ#5 and returned a final time to anchor her team's 4x400m to victory at 4:08.13.
The Phillipsburg junior was third in the 100m and 200m during last year's Meet of Champions as a sophomore and has PRs of 11.94 and 24.93.
