Bergen Catholic has had a successful season thus far in 2018, winning their second straight Big North United Division title on January 15th and most recently the Non-Public Group at Bergen County Relay Championships. There seems to be more of a meaning behind those victories than usual however, the Bergen County win was dedicated to sophomore Kyle Egan. The distance focused Egan recently began treatment for osteosarcoma, a common form of bone cancer.
To help show their support for Kyle a noted difference can be found on their uniforms as well as with their team celebrations. Every athlete has a 'K' sticker placed on their chest (#KforKyle) and the American Sign Language sign for 'K' is proudly presented in team pictures.
We'd like to present this article as our support for Kyle Egan through his treatments as well. Stay strong and get well man!
