New Jersey's own Keturah Orji, now a senior at Georgia, has improved her all-time American women's indoor triple jump standard. On her first attempt at the Clemson Invitational on Saturday Orji hit a mark of 47-08 to break the record, she finished with two other jumps over 46 feet to close the meet.

She already owned the American indoor record with a 46-11.75 at the SEC Championships in February of 2017. Before that it was 46-08.25 held by Sheila Hudson since 1995. A two-time indoor and three-time outdoor NCAA Champion in the event she is once again rightfully up for The Bowerman Award this season.
The jump star also owns the outdoor American triple jump record thanks to her 48-03.25 leap at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She placed fourth overall at the games the highest among U.S. women since the start of the women's triple jump competition in 1996. The New Jersey native graduated from Mount Olive in 2014.
