On Saturday during the Nike Cross Nationals meet in Portland, Oregon Christian Brothers Academy finished seventh as a team for the second straight year.
Led by Brian Hill and Luke Reid in 33rd and 45th running 15:47 and 15:53 the Colts scored 221 points, 11-17-35-66-92, and averaged 16:14 while racing the top teams in the nation. The rest of the scoring five for CBA included Troy Hill in 71st at 16:11, Timmy McInerney 111st 16:30, and Ryan Miele 137th 16:45. A great effort and season by New Jersey's powerhouse.
The Loudoun Valley boys out of Virginia scored the lowest amount of points for a boys team in meet history at 89 to win. CBA had the previous record from their 2011 championship when they scored 91.
Running as individuals for New Jersey, Chris Romero of Voorhees finished 63rd with a time of 16:05 and Will Hare of Princeton 103rd at 16:27.
The girls were led by Meet of Champions winner Monica Hebner of Northern Highlands in 59th with a time of 18:53.
North Hunterdon and Kingsway finished 21st and 22nd in the team scores. North Hunterdon was led by Chloe Gonzalez in 94th at 19:15 and Kingsway Alexis Mullarkey 126th 19:46.
The girls championship went to New York's Fayetteville-Manlius with 89 points to Illinois' Naperville North's 94.
