The Scoop: The Greatest Weekend Of Prep Track And Field Action Yet

5. Lexy Halladay Throws Down Freshman Class Record In Adidas Dream Mile

She came in as a relative non-contender, but Mountain View (ID) High freshman Lexy Halladay left the adidas Boost Boston Games Dream Mile as a freshman class national record holder in 4:41.80.

Seven runners finished under the former US No. 1 mark of 4:45.97, including the likes of Grandview (Co.) High senior and NXN champion Brie Oakley (4:41.95), Fort Collins (Co.) High senior Lauren Gregory (4:42.00) and Girard (IA) High senior Cailie Logue (4:42.94).

The feat by Halladay wasn't exactly a surprise. She was just two weeks off a 1600m performance of 4:52.51 at the Idaho Track and Field Championships and had run 4:46.35 in the full mile at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays in late April.

Expect more from Halladay in the near future.
