Robbinsville's Lauren Kroepfl set the XC Fall Classic's meet record on Saturday running 18:12 to win the Varsity B race. Her run took down Grace Dwyer's time of 18:19 which she set as a freshman in 2012.
The record wasn't something she set out to do, this meet's goal was simply for the team to get race time in on their county and sectional course, Thompson Park. She should be pretty happy with the results then, as this performance already betters the fastest time run on the course throughout last year's season. The course leader in 2015 was the now graduated Hannah Bonaguidi of Delaware Valley at 18:22. Kroepfl ranked second overall that year with her 18:25 at Mercer County Championships.
This is Kroepfl's second invitational race win on the season with a victory in the Varsity E race at Shore Coaches last Saturday, a Holmdel time of 18:44. She also had a very strong showing at the Bowdoin Classic two weeks ago when she ran the second fastest time of the meet that day at 19:32 and the fastest out of New Jersey competitors.
