Battle at Ocean County Park

For the boys Elliot Gindi ran the fastest time of the meet winning the senior race with a 15:10, a new meet record. The previous record was held by Kyle Kroon of Toms River South who posted a 15:25 in 2013. Gindi led his team to a third place finish in the merge.

The team merge win went to Cherry Hill East led by Marc Meltzer and Tyler Parsons who had the third and fourth fastest times of the day with a 15:36 and 15:37. They averaged a time of 16:06 and split 57 seconds between their fastest five runners!

Other top finishers under 16 minutes not mentioned above: South Amboy's Patrick Walsh 15:30, Brick Twp's Damien Dilcher 15:53, New Providence's Mark Pasquariello 15:54, Middletown South's Matt Lepine 15:55, and Red Bank Regional's Ryan Humelsine 15:58. 

For the girls Niamh Hayes of Howell threw down the quickest time with a 17:56 to win the senior race, also a meet record! The previous top time was held by Marin Warner of Holmdel when she ran 18:10 her senior year in 2014. 

Abby Loveys of Randolph showed up in the sophomore race continuing a great start to her season with the second fastest time of the meet at 18:28. Also under 19 minutes were Manalapan's Kiera Nealon 18:31 and Randolph's Brooke Olson 18:46. 


The team merge was easily taken by Rumson-Fair Haven who averaged 20:01 through their top five. They were led by Cameron Irvine who ran 19:42 Friday afternoon.

The top freshmen were Grace Yoon of Cherry Hill East at 11:59 and Troy Hill of Christian Brothers Academy at 10:11. The freshmen races ran a length of 3200 meters.
